From what you've said here it sounds like you have the Min required amount of RAM (512Meg) to run HP-UX 11. Unix does not like to "share memory" but Oracle may still beable to run with that amount it will just run much slower then it should (i'm not 100% sure of that since I don't know Oracle but that hold true for most other instances so as far as I know it should be OK for Oracle also). Your best bet is to upgrade to the recomended amount of 2Gig (over kill is always better then not having enouph and it will help to prepare you for future upgrades).
