Hi DBAs and Administrators,

I am looking at upgrading from HP-UX10.10 to HP-UX11.0, plus installing Oracle8 r8.0.3.
We have 512MB on our 9000/800 K Series machine. Did some reading before, and Oracle said that I need around 100MB, then I thought I have ample
memory. However, the HP-UX11.0 says it can run 128MB/512MB ram for 32/64 bit applications,
but recommends 1GB / 2GB for 32 / 64 bit applications.

So, could anyone tell me, does it mean I don't have enough ram ? And do they add up ? or Oracle is sharing the memory with the OS ?

Thanks a lot in advance .
