Hi,

Under Novell Netware, Oracle 7.3.2 and SqlNet v2.3.

In sql/net v1, we have designed some batch that can stop the Tcp/ip listener at 18h00 and that start the tcp/ip listener at 08h00.

So, our DB is available via tcp/ip only on business time. And we keep the spx listener running 24/24.

Now that we have a test site using Oracle 7.3 and SqlNet v2.3, I cannot find a way to stop only one protocol of the listener (tcp).

I used easycfg to generate a listener.ora like this one: ***
#This is a SQL*Net Configuration file generated by SQL*NetEasy Configuration.
#Attention: Do not modify this file yourself. #If you do, your SQL*Net Easy Configuration may not function properly.

LISTENER =
  (ADDRESS_LIST =

     (ADDRESS =

(PROTOCOL = SPX)
(SERVICE = TEST-SPX-SERVICE)
) (ADDRESS =
(PROTOCOL = TCP)
(HOST = 123.123.123.123)
(PORT = 1521)
)

  )
STARTUP_WAIT_TIME_LISTENER = 0
CONNECT_TIMEOUT_LISTENER = 10
TRACE_LEVEL_LISTENER = OFF
SID_LIST_LISTENER =
  (SID_LIST =
    (SID_DESC =
      (SID_NAME = ORCL)
      (ORACLE_HOME = SYS:ORANW)

    )
  )
#EZCFG_VER=1.1.0.0.0
***

How can I use lsnrctl.nlm to stop/start ONLY the tcp part of such a config???

An example would be appreciated ! Received on Thu Mar 05 1998 - 00:00:00 CST
