I don't know if this is the same thing, but on 7.3.4 and Solaris 2.6 I just did, creating the database gives an error in the middle of the database creation process, that you have to shutdown the already running database. Shutting it down in another window let the thing continue. I'm idly wondering if the NT install has the same wierdness but doesn't trap the error in the install window, and if you just shutdown the database in another window with the equivalent of svrmgrl> shutdown, it will mysteriously continue.
