ORA-02019: connection description for remote database not found ....

I have a problem with a 7.3.3 database that is returning an ORA-02019 error message about 4 times an hour, and I can't seem to figure out why. While connected to the S6PRD database and inserting data into S7DEV through a database link, I received the following message in the S6PRD alert log file on December 23, and since then the ORA-02019 error is being received:

ORA-02054: transaction 2.59.2679 in-doubt
ORA-01562: failed to extend rollback segment number 6

ORA-02063: preceding 2 lines from S7DEV

Any ideas on what I should look at?
