Hi, DBAs,
I am trying to get an idea on how everyone allocates memory for Oracle server. Could you please privide some info on your server? thanks.
For a dedicate Oracle database server,
how much total memory in the system (Sun Sparce server, NT, HP, etc.)?
how many db_block_buffers,shared_pool_size,log_buffer are set in the init file?
The exmaple in Oracle's default init.ora file has a LARGE module define as
db_block_buffers = 3200
shared_pool_size = 900000
log_buffe = 327680
Are these setting pratical for LARGE apps? How LARGE can this setting afford?
