- Two new components for Enterprise Manager previewed.
- Oracle provides details on several new Oracle Applications
products and initiatives, including Oracle Applications Release 11.
- Oracle announces the availability of Oracle Sales Analyzer and
Financial Analyzer for Sun Solaris.
- Fujitsu is developing a Cobol cartridge that Oracle plans to
include with its Web Application Server. The Fujitsu Cobol Cartridge
will include a set of standard Cobol APIs that enable Oracle Web
Application Server functions to be invoked directly from within Cobol
programs.
- Oracle to offer Java development tool built with Borland’s
JBuilder.
- Oracle Interoffice 4.1 to ship in November.
- Open Gateway Suite Enables Access to Sybase and Microsoft Data
from any NT Machine
- Oracle’s Fail Safe offers availability and failover protection
for Windows NT clusters.
- Personal Oracle Lite 3.0 supports Java-based stored procedures
and triggers, Java objects, and Java access to the database.
Surprisingly, Oracle Lite supports stored procedures and triggers
written in Java only--there is no support for PL/SQL.
