FWIW Here's the things we had to do to get K510p1 working with RDBMS 7.3.3
and Net 2.3.3:
- Install K510p1;
- Install Adv Networking Options;
- Set SQL*Net to point to the files specified in the Adv Net documentations
these are the old format config files (/etc/krb.cong & /etc/krb.realms).
Whilst Oracle claims to support all v5 versions of kerberos, their toolset
does not appear to be able to parse the K510p1 configuration file
format, so it looks as if we'll have to run with a mix-n-match of file
formats;
- Alter the Oracle makefiles to point to the new location of K5 - the
makefiles hard-code '/krb5' - K510p1, by default now installs to
/usr/local;
- Alter the network/lib/ env makefile to make sure that LIBSQLNET is not
reset from it's correct value of 'libsqlnet.a' to a list of other
libraries (read bug);
- In network/lib remake the nuatab.o file (should be ar'd into libsqlnet.a);
- Use orainst to relink the adv net executables;
- Manually relink the sqlplus executable (read bug - relinking the adv
networking options that relinks such executables as imp, should relink
sqlplus too, no ?).
Ta Da !
It gave me and another DBA a major headache tracking the above down,
so hope it helps someone else.
