Oracle does not support NFS for database files because NFS does not have the same file-locking and write-completion guarantees that an OS file system has. If you don't care about the possibility of losing data or corrupting your database integrity, then go ahead and use NFS. However, don't expect any help from Oracle if you ever have a problem with it.
