I consider myself to be an 'Oracle Applications developer' but I had no problems in installing Sybase V10 and bringing up the database complete with it's SQL*Net equivalent from the install tapes, on a strange machine, in a matter of 12 hours or so. My lasting impression is that it is really easy to DBA compared to Oracle due to all the built-in system procedures Sybase provides plus the ability to have multiple databases within one 'instance'.

One facility I _did_ miss with Sybase though, Decode.
