To save yourself a lot of headaches with Windows, install LAN Workplace for DOS on the client systems. Actually, you need only 3 files:
TCPIP.EXE
TELAPI.EXE
TELAPI.HLP
Trumpet Winsock only seemed to work with PPP/SLIP on my systems. The LWP
supplied winsock.dll worked with both LAN and dial-up connections.
