something to do with startup or shutdown -- or did it have something to do with initializing >64k mem on 5.1.b for the PC?
i'm remembering 'initialize oracle' (the IOR) but the 'I' is making me think this may have also been used for the equivalent of shutdown immediate.
how many points are at stake?
