People have installed on Media Center, it seems to work OK.

There are a number of known issues with the install on XP generally -

1) Make sure firewalls are not running during install (ZoneAlarm especially)
2) You will need a temp directory on the c: drive
3) If you have existing Oracle software installed (or software that has
shipped with Oracle network drivers) then there are potential DLL clashes. Look for a dll called oraociei10.dll on the system, and if there, make sure it's not in the PATH during install. 4) On faster machines, there is potential for a race condition during install. If the install hangs at the 'Creating Services' step and the IDrive process starts to max CPU you have hit it. The workaround seems to be to start the OracleXETNSListener service manually from the Control Pnael and then things should catch up and continue. Received on Thu Dec 15 2005 - 10:36:34 CST
