Xproc calls eat up memory

Using xproc to call a web service to perform various tasks. It seems to be using a lot of virtual memory.

Does anyone know how it creates the new process and what memory it duplicates?

v9 running on Win2003

System grinds to a halt after about 200 connections make the call.
