Ignoring oraInst.loc

Hi all,

I'm trying to do a local install of an Oracle 9.2 client on a Solaris 9 box. This box already has the /var/opt/oracle/oraInst.loc file set, but I want to perform a separate install. However, when I start the interactive installer I get this error:

"You do not have permission to write to the inventory /opt/dbms/oracle/oraInventory."

I don't have root access, so altering that file isn't an option. Is there a way I can get the installer to ignore the values set in that file?

Thanks.
