All I care about is getting the data I need. It turns out that they run batch cycles at different intervals during the day, which take down the database. If users try to hit that link when their database is down, or while a query is executing, then of course there will be issues.

Not to be sounding rude, but in a perfect world, your suggestions might work, and in a perfect world they would get their ass together and fix whatever they need to fix. But this is far from a perfect world. And, I can only control what is within my grasp.

So, I'm no better off than when I posted the first post in this thread.  Thank you for your thoughts and comments. But I have to work with the hand I am delt here.
