Beg your pardon - that's 8i you're talking about... 8 was desupported long before that.

All your other comments (vendor upgrade) stand firm :)

OTOH: why upgrade (vendor and/or Oracle) if everything works okay, and you have no complaints or wishes? What do you think the odds are you will find a new problem?
