Lets keep the emphasis on rare. And lets emphasize that one does this only if there is, as I stated, a compelling reason. Which means one has hit a problem and been forced to take this action to resolve it.

Agreed. But "depends" is not the situation in which the OP finds himself. He has no compelling reason to create a second database and thus; shouldn't.
