Maybe they're not, but sometimes you just have to compare them because somebody in the company has to decide wich DBMS will be used.

The problem is that most people do not specify properly what they really need. It is like looking for transport, and asking people at Fordt what's best; a Chevvy Pickup or a Ford Pickup. So they buy a Ford pickup while they really just need a solid mountainbike and a backpack;-)
