Just for perspective your question reads something like the following: "I've dissected frogs a couple of times. How long will it take me to become a competent neurosurgeon."

As you put the word "competent" into your request ... I'd say two to five years.

If you just want to be able to start it, stop it, back it up, and pray you never have to restore ... about one day.
