You certainly can do that. I've done it all for you and fixed a lot of potential problems in SQL*XL. It's free so why not have a look at it: www.oraxcel.com

SQL*XL specialises in getting Orcacle data into Excel and vise versa. It fully supports all Oracle SQL. Bulk commands allow spreadsheets full of data to flow to Oracle with a few mouse clicks. You can even automate all your actions by recording it into Excel macros.
