General rules for the Oracle newsgroups: - always include version number for *all* Oracle sw you are using - always include *exact* error messages, not 'it doesn't work'

Developer 2.1 is way old and has been desupported a long time ago. It also contains both sqlnet2 and net8, and without further info from your side no one will be capable to resolve your problem, as no one can claim to be clairvoyant and crystal balls usually don't work.
