Certification alone will NOT get you a job. You'll first need to get your foot in the door and then take the training and certification. You need to be able to use what you learn immediately or you will forget it. Nothing beats hands-on experience even if you have to start at the bottom. I have been a DB2 and Oracle DBA for over 10 years now and haven't been held back by lack of certification
