100% agreed. DO NOT ASK ORACLE ABOUT THIS! They will screw you over like they did us when they rold us Novell was: 1) Appropriate for our task, 2) a fully supported, stable platofrm for Oracle, and 3) was full supported by Oracle's tech support staff...

The one time we called Oracle for tech support we had to wait for the Netware support guy to come in!

In retrospect, putting Oracle on Novell seems like the stupid decision it was, but we had the assurances of several Oracle sales people.

In other words: User Oracle sales people only for negotiating, get an experinced DBA to help you plan the Oracle setup you need. Received on Mon May 21 2001 - 16:46:41 CDT
