You are mixing apples and lug nuts.

The Oracle database is currently at version 8i and version 9i will be released early this summer, probably around June.

Oracle's application server has gone through various implementations and name changes being referred to as Oracle Application Server (OAS) Internet Application Server (IAS), etc. and is currently labeled 9i so that it will correspond with the next release of the database.

Oracle's Applications had a version 10. Then a version 11. They are currently at version 11i.

Or at least that's my story and I'm sticking with it.
