Hey;

The few times that I've installed Oracle in a production environment, I was basically as clueless on the Oracle side. I did have the benefit of being very familiar with UNIX in general and Solaris in particular. Gernally, the installation guides that Oracle sends with their software seem to be right on track. Is there something specific you're having a problem with? If you post any/all errors, we might be able to help a bit...
