had the same question and talked with oracle rep. seems there is a conflict
with ME.when you purchase the software or download the trial-only options are
for 98 or NT/2000.  i am trying to install Win 2000 on my ME OS and then
install oracle 8i. Win ME is a bear . having lots of problems even doing a
clean install with win 2000. good luck.
