We're using Microsoft's NT Services for Unix. It comes with a Telnet service and some of the MKS Unix commands. You already have a terminal server with TCP/IP, so you're almost there. It costs about $100 at www.provantage.com. I use Reflection and set my terminal to SCO-Unix to operate DOSKEY. The problem is that everyone has access to the c:\> prompt. I would think you would be better off with some variant of Unix.

I used to be a Vax system manager about 10 years ago. There is nothing dumber or cheaper than a green screen. You would have to rip out your serial lines and put in ethernet to everywhere you have your terminals today. I did a conversion from VMS to Solaris. We kept our VT220 terminals for a while. There were some applications that just seemed to run better in a text environment.
