Oracle Server on Multi-homed Server

Hi all,

I am trying to configure Oracle 8i on a multihomed  (ie more than one IP address) server. The idea being we have an application server and a database server. The application server makes a lot of requests against the database and we would like this traffic to go across a dedicated 100Mb server to server connection. Clients should be able to communicate with the application server and the database server from the main subnet as well.

I've tried several different options to set this up - multiple listener and database instance addresses etc but it either refuses to
communicate at all or establishes the connection across the main subnet rather than the
interconnect.

Has anyone had any success with a similar configuration?

The platform is NT Server 4.0

Thanks
