 Hmm...while we're on the Oracle/NT
subject, I have a related question.
I had an NT workstation 128MB RAM
running OAS, JDeveloper and 8.1.5
Oracle RDBMS. It arrived with NT
already installed, and I put the
Oracle goodies on successfully
(with a little domain assistance

from Sybrand Bakker). I had to
pass that system along, and now
I would like one for myself.I am a
DBA, I am not a NT administrator.
When I went hunting for PCs, everything
was preloaded with Win98. The
salespeople all said loading NT
was a nightmare, driver problems,
etc. Can anyone recommend a
system with modest components
(just need a network card and 128MB

RAM, medium sized disk) that I
could load NT on myself and not
deal with these or other complications.
Is it really that complex?
I have years of UNIX sys admin
experience, and I suppose I could
be termed a NT "power user", but
I don't want to get frustrated and
spend years trying to install NT
so I could lay on OAS,8.1.5, and
JDeveloper successfully. I really
appreciate any assistance. TIA Received on Sun Apr 30 2000 - 00:00:00 CDT
