In all honesty, and speaking as an Oracle instructor (so there's the declaration of self-interest up-front) you would be much better off attending a few Instructor-led courses.

You need to pick your instructor with care. But the CDs (and books and newsgroups and so forth) should complement the ILT, not replace it.
