The oratab.sh asks you several questions about your oracle install
(i.e. ORACLE_HOME, Oracle's "owner", etc.) What I did when installing
8.0.5 was to always log in as oracle (my owner) and then su to root.
If you just log into root, you will not have /usr2/oracle/bin in your
path, and I assume that's the required directory that you are missing.
