Would someone please write a win95 interface for Solaris/Aix/Hp so that we can silence those who need a gui crutch without crippling people who really know how to use an operating system as open and beautiful as Unix?

Also, about the price issue, I recently priced a Sun 450 with 2 64bit 400mhz (risc) processers, 2gb ram, and 72gb storage. It was about the same price as a Compaq with 4xeons (32 bit) and the same ram. Now who's the price performance leader?

Furthermore, I use most of the sp_configures that they took out of MSsqlserver 7. I don't use them every day, but I do use them. (Actually, since the configuration stays until you change it, I guess -- in a way -- I do use them every day)

And finally: Who's the market leader in replication? -- Sybase. Who owns the financial sector? -- Sybase. Why? (see statement number one). Who owns the small footprint database market for pda's and other tiny things that need a database? -- Sybase. Who has a solution that will allow replication of data from a pda to a pc to a unix server to a mainframe? -- You guessed it, Sybase.

Sybase is not on a downward spiral. It is comming back. You just hide and watch. And don't take any wooden nickels. Ok?
