This can be done on NT as well. You can install Oracle 7.3 and Oracle 8 in the same ORACLE_HOME too. This is why the executables for NT in $ORACLE_HOME\bin contain a version. For instance, Server Manager for Oracle 7.3 is svrmgr23 and Server Manager for Oracle 8 is svrmgr30. Both executables can reside in the same ORACLE_HOME, but are clearly different due to their names. Network products are installed in the same ORACLE_HOME as well. SQL*Net V2 for Oracle 7 is installed in $ORACLE_HOME\network and Net8 for Oracle 8 is installed in $ORACLE_HOME\net80.
