We've been using 8.0.5 on HP/UX 10.20 since last summer and have had no problems. We upgraded from 7.3.4 databases (using export/import, not migration) without difficulty. Pro*Cobol has been painless, and the Pro*C seems okay, although only touched it once. You should have no problem with

your 7.2.3 apps working under 8.x without any changes.	If you have the disk
space, you can install the 8.x in a different home and try it.	The bitmapped
indexes are worth the effort...
