How to manage rolback segments?

Hi,

I'm running a large database, with about 200,000 new records a day. I'm experiencing problems with rollback segments, with messages like 'cannot extend rollback segment 10', etc.

I have activated the ROLLBACK_DATA tablespace with 5 public segments. The tablespace has 100mb and each rollback has 20mb with extents of 300k.

I also created a public for the schema itself. It seems that Oracle uses the rollback segment in a cycle and doesn't shrink the segment to the optimal size after finishing a large transaction.

My questions are:

• How to "forget" the rollback segments and let them be auto-administrated?
• How to activate a private rollback segment and force the schema to always put any transaction there without changing the client code?
