Lite vs. Enterprise?

I recently received the Oracle on NT Trial CD and am interested in possibly using Oracle for my next major project. I am in no way experienced with Oracle (the extent of my relational knowledge is really limited to Access or old FoxPro.)

I was curious, what is the development process comparison between Oracle 8 Enterprise and Oracle Lite? The 'Lite' seems a lot easier to get my brain around (not to mention smaller) but I don't want to just learn the 'Lite' if the work I do isn't EASILY transferable to the enterprise server, since the enterwise version would be necessary for end deplyment.

So, if I were to start working on 'Lite' to more gradually learn Oracle, would I be able to use all that knowledge for dealing with the enterprise edition? I indend to use Java code to interact with the database so if there is a strong difference I would appreciate knowing it now so I could just start with the full version if that's what I need to do. Thanks a bunch!
