gethostbyaddr not working in Win95

When calling gethostbyaddr function in my 16bit application running on Windows 95,the function fails and the return value is NULL. WSAGetLastError returns WSA_NODATA( 11004). This works if I run my application on Windows NT 4.0.

Can anybody tell me why this is happening?? Thnx in advance,
