Our client, a California based consulting firm, has an immediate need for the following for 2+ year Terms Contracts, based in Los Angeles.
DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR CONSULTANT Administers and control an organization's data resources. Uses data dictionary software packages to ensure data integrity and security, recover corrupted data and eliminate data redundancy; and uses tuning tools to improve database performance. Familiar with operating systems (e.g., UNIX, NT, etc.), shell programming and kernel configuration, and establishes standards. Troubleshoots networking and operating system problems.
SKILLS
Configure and tune RDBMS (e.g., Oracle, Informix, Redbrick, etc.)
Manage production RDBMS and applications. Familiar with RCS controls,
database security control, and scheduled jobs
Implement back-up and recovery procedures
Oracle 7 and Oracle V6 database and tools including SQL*Plus, PL/SQL,
SQL*DBA, SQL*Loader, Server Manager
Familiar with Oracle Financial auto-install and concurrent manager
configuration
Implement UNIX script to accomplish specific system tasks
Familiar with operating system installations and upgrades, especially UNIX
systems
Familiar with networking and client/server computing
Solid PC skills
QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems
Strong database and SQL knowledge
UNIX and networking knowledge preferred
Demonstrate good written and oral communication skills
Ability to establish good working relationships with a diverse group of
people and skills
Ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks and to function well under
pressure
Minimum of three years Industry experience
