CPU of Oracle Server limiting ressource

We run the server hardware only as RDBMS server, putting all the applications on the client, using application cache for batches to avoid unneccessary SELECTs to the server. The result is, that what goes to the server from batches is just masses of INSERTs, UPDATEs and DELETEs.

But when the third client with those batches starts, our SUN SPARC2 running the Oracle server is at 100% CPU usage.

Can someone give hints or references to documentation, that gives more information, what influences CPU usage of an ORACLE server? Is there some way to solve this by lets say a factor of 2 our do we have to upgrade to another machine? Received on Sun Nov 23 1997 - 00:00:00 CST
