Hi I tend to use AIX mirroring on the grounds that I can create them as part of the initial creation of the Logical Volumes (we also put the control files onto raw-disk). The main reason for this aproach is that only the System Administrators really know in what drawers and on what power circuits the disks are located, thus they are best off for ensuring that we have sufficient redundancy, whilst the DBA's spend most of their time asking for more disk space
