Hmmm... Don't really see how - because how would Import know which compression engine/method you had used? (pkzip, compress, arj, etc.)

I don't think you'd gain any advantage over decompressing it first and then importing it to be honest. If you wanted to automate such a system (as we do) then use a shell script.
