The book Nuno is refering to is called "ORACLE Performance Tuning" by Peter Corrigan and Mark Gurry. It is published by O'Reilly & Associates, Inc.

Mine is quite old and covers versions 6.x and 7.1; it was my first Tuning bible. I hope the newer release covers up to 7.3. You'll have to check it out.
