You need the following

  1. SQLNet on both client/server
  2. the correct ODBC (16 or 32 bit) for the the application and the SQLNet being used.
  3. Include the Oracle/bin in the PATH? Yu didn't say if you were Win31 , NT, or Win95 and whether the app software was 16 or 32 bit?
