I’ll configure the wait event, thanks.

Strangely, the error is raised with the bequeath connection.

I changed exec_DB_script in catcon.pm (in the lab) to gather additional information on error, but the environment seems correct:

if ( $_ =~ m{ORA-12269} ) {
  open(FH, '>', '/tmp/failed_' . time );

  print "Nenad\n";
  print "$scriptFile \n" ;
  print "$ENV{PATH}" ;
  print "$ENV{LD_LIBRARY_PATH}" ;

  print join "\n", _at_Spool ;
  close FH ;
  die "Killed" ;
}

By the way, there is something strange in this procedure:

It receives sqlplus as a parameter
  my ($statements, $marker, $DoneCmd, $DoneFilePathBase, $sqlplus) = _at__;

but it doesn’t use it when calling the script (“$” is missing before sqlplus):

  open my $Reader, "sqlplus /nolog \_at_$scriptFile | ";

Since the PATH is set correctly, the correct sqlplus is called, so it’s not relevant to this problem.

catcdb.sql calls individual Perl/sql scripts and continues on error. The scripts restart the database after an error occurred.

The next step:
I’ll call the scripts individually (instead of catcdb.sql), break on error and then check if the problem is reproducible at will. (all in the lab, of course)

Best regards,

Nenad

A 10079 trace may be useful

First set 10046 to create the trace file, then 10079, with level 1 for network ops.

/*
 10079, 00000, "trace data sent/received via SQL*Net"
*Cause:
*Action: level 1 - trace network ops to/from client

          level 2 - in addition to level 1, dump data
          level 4 - trace network ops to/from dblink
          level 8 - in addition to level 4, dump data
*/
  • all attempts to set with alter session result in ora-0131 insufficient privileges --alter session set events '10079 trace name context forever, level 1'; oradebug setmypid oradebug event 10079 trace name context forever, level 1

I haven't tried this in a couple years, but when I did, the 10046 event was necessary to create the tracefile.
