Sltrgftime64_cgt tried to jump to an invalid program address. This function is a wrapper for the OS function for getting high resolution time. I‘ll check this function in detail in a couple of weeks.

This function was called by kstmhighrestimecntk. You could try to disable the high resolution ticker by setting _disable_highres_ticks to TRUE as a workaround. I’ve never done this. Do it on a test system first to see if there are any side-effects.

With regard to the different behavior on a different host: - Are the patch levels the same? (Vktm relies on OS kernel functions, like nanosleep) - Could you compare the spfiles on both servers? (Vktm increments the time counters in SGA. There are some undocumented parameters that define the time resolution.)

Hi Nenad,

Sorry there was typo below. Below is the correct VKTM trace file. And yes you are right there is ORA-07445 reported. But not sure why we are not getting this issue for the DB instances after we moved to a different host.

Thanks for responding.

Below is the VKTM trace. BTW forgot to mention that, we moved a couple of DB instances to another host post which those DB instances are not getting terminated.

VKTM Trace:

What are the last entries in the vktm trace?

Hi All,

Envt Details: DB version 12.1.0.2 Apr 2019 PSU , Running on VM RHEL 7.7

We have an issue wherein we have 6 DB instances running on different VM's sharing the same host getting terminated. The background process VKTM dies and subsequently PMON terminates the instance. Raised an SR with Oracle a couple of weeks back but so far they have not been able to find the root cause. Also i did follow some of the recommendations given the below MOS notes, but that also didn't help. Prior to VKTM getting terminated , the strace just shows "nanosleep({0, 1000000}, 0x7fff29abd7f0) = 0" in its trace file. Please find the below gist file which contains strace information of VKTM process just before it got terminated.
