I had to fire up my Amiga from 1991 to remind me why that editor should have been retired almost 3 decades ago. If I truly need to edit on the least common denominator, I'll go back to the 70's with vi, or one-offs with sed/awk. But I'll use nano (nee "pico") if a graphical interface is not available. My daily editor is the commercial EmEditor, as I do have the need to inspect text files in the multi-GB-size range.
