Morning Vadim,

now that you have the backup working, please make sure that you can restore it. Or, at the very least, run a restore validate database which will at least make sure that your most recent level 0 is readable but not the level 1 or archived logs that might be required to recover the database.

I've worked in many places over the years, as a dba and otherwise, where backups were taken religiously, but never tested, there were exceptions - Morning John Hallas - where backups were equally religiously restored frequently.

Backups are pretty much not required, until the day you need one - and it's good to know that it will restore, to the original server and to a new server,in the case of a disaster befalling the original one.

Have fun.

Cheers,
Norm.
