Hey Martin and Lothar,
well the issue that the result_cache hint was not considered via SQL patch was fixed by patch for bug #16974854. There are one-off patches and it is already included in 12.1.0.2. However in this special case another result cache limitation kicks in: http://docs.oracle.com/database/121/TGDBA/tune_result_cache.htm#TGDBA646

Results cannot be cached when the following objects or functions are in a query:

  • Temporary tables and tables in the SYS or SYSTEM schemas
