Hi There,

Just to be sure,

Oracle 12c 12.1.0.2 PSU jully

On Aix I have two NIC for the cluster interconnect allocated.

The AIG guy is telling me, there is no need to have two as each NIC is virtual and fully redundant.

So he request me to remove one to see if we can operate with only one.

So I have done

oifcfg getif

en10 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx global public

en20 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx global cluster_interconnect

en30 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx global cluster_interconnect

I have removed the en30

oifcfg delif -global en30

oifcfg getif

en10 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx global public

en20 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx global cluster_interconnect

But, the HAIP was moved to en20...

So I might consider it's normal while the cluster-ware is running.

So I reboot the 2 nodes and still have two HAIP on en20.

Question: is this a normal behavior with only one nic for cluster_interconnect?

I would say for code optimization, yes, but I am waiting for your feedback.

Cheers
